Excel Viewer 2003 enables you to open, view, print and copy Excel Books in the following formats even without having the corresponding editing software installed:
• Microsoft Office Excel 2003
• Microsoft Excel 2002
• Microsoft Excel 2000
• Microsoft Excel 97
This version is the replacement for Excel Viewer 97 and all previous versions.
The application supports the following operating systems: Windows 2000 Service Pack 4; Windows Server 2003 Service; Windows XP.
With this software you cannot edit an open document, save a document, or create a new Excel Book.
This software can be downloaded for free use, so you can use it for the processes it enables without having to buy a license. For enterprise use, you can save money by having a few licenses with editing ability and many viewers for the remaining needed processes.
If you don’t have Microsoft Excel installed on your PC you can use Excel Viewer to view any Excel Book of your interest.
With this program, you can open documents created using Microsoft Office Excel 2003, 2002, 2000, or 97. You can also read documents created with Office Excel 2007, but, in this case, you need to download the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Excel, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats in addition to Excel Viewer this is because Microsoft Office 2007 uses new file formats:
• Microsoft Office Excel 2007 binary workbook (*.xlsb)
• Microsoft Office Excel 2007 workbook (*.xlsx)
• Microsoft Office Excel 2007 macro-enabled workbook (*.xlsm)
• Microsoft Office Excel 2007 template (*.xltx)
• Microsoft Office Excel 2007 macro-enabled template (*.xltm)
• Microsoft Office Excel 2007 add-in (*.xlam)
When using this software to view these file formats you will see an Excel 2003 version of the documents, all those features and layouts not contained in Excel 2003 won’t be seen.
The app's features include the following ones:
• You will be able to read any type of the above listed versions of Excel books from.
• You can copy text and graphics into another program.
• The document can be zoomed in or out (see the screenshot added).
• You can search text within the current sheet or the whole workbook, inside values or comments, by row or by column (see the screenshots included in this review).
• There is a “go to” option that, for example, will show you which cells have formulas, though you won’t be able to see the actual formulas. But, when positioned in a cell that has a formula you can “go to precedents” and it will paint the cells involved in the formula. (see the screenshot added).
• There are quite a lot of options for printing the document you can print the whole document, current page, a range of pages, the whole workbook, the current sheet. And you can also see the “print preview” where you will be able to set margins and other settings (see the screenshots). |
